VALUE function in Google Sheets

Converts a string in any of the date, time or number formats that Google Sheets understands into a number.

=VALUE(text)

    The string containing the value to be converted.

  1. A number stored as text (“1,250.00”) turned into a real number:

    =VALUE(A2)

    Result1250

  2. The numeric part of a code, as a number you can sort and sum:

    =VALUE(MID(A2, 5, 5))

    Result10422
