QUOTIENT function in Google Sheets

Returns one number divided by another.

=QUOTIENT(dividend, divisor)

QUOTIENT syntax and parameters

Two arguments, two required.

  • dividendnumberRequired

    The number to be divided.

  • divisornumberRequired

    The number to divide by (cannot equal 0).

QUOTIENT examples

  1. Full boxes of 12 — the integer part of the division:

    =QUOTIENT(B2, 12)

  2. Minutes shown as hours and minutes:

    =QUOTIENT(B2, 60) & "h " & MOD(B2, 60) & "m"
