Returns the arcsine of a number

=ASIN(number)

ASIN syntax and parameters

One argument, one required.

  • numbernumberRequired

    The sine of the angle you want and must be from -1 to 1.

  1. The arcsine of 0.5, in radians:

    =ASIN(0.5)

    Result0.5236

  2. The same angle in degrees — wrap in DEGREES:

    =DEGREES(ASIN(0.5))

    Result30
