Converts a specified string to uppercase.

=UPPER(text)

  1. Country codes normalised to upper case before a lookup:

    =UPPER(A2)

    Result"DE"

  2. Capitalise only the first letter, leaving the rest as typed:

    =UPPER(LEFT(A2, 1)) & MID(A2, 2, LEN(A2))
